Stranded and Lost

Introduction

This is a (planned) mod the free game Stranded 2. Since the game is already a desert island survival theme it shouldn’t take too much effort to bend it into a fun “Lost” game.

Forum

Plan

Create island of suitable terrian and size (apparently it takes 3 days to cross the lost island from west to east, should [or could] this one be that big).
Try and include all major locations mentioned on the lost map in one form or another (game restricted).
Attempt to script missions and activities related to the lost story lines (others attacking the losties).
Find someone who can create suitable models and graphics.
Add new voice / sounds / music / graphics to make it more lost-a-like.

Help wanted

Anyone willing to help is more than welcome, many hands make light work after all. Here’s a list of things I really need help with, but if you want to help with anything not listed just let me know.

Creating 3D models (Using the B3D format, although converters do exist so various other 3D tools like Blender could be used.)
Creating graphics, textures, cool fonts, buttons
Sound and music (obviously I don’t want to upset the TV show creators, so free but similar music and sounds would be required
Possibly someone who can speak English and German really well. Stranded 2 has lots of scripting information but it seems to be all in German.

I worked with models before, so meaby I can help you. I’m using 3ds-max, but I’m not sure it can take B3D files. What do you use for B3D files?

Thanks for your offer, but I meant to update this page and list the mod as inactive. Haven’t really got enough spare time anymore to dedicate to it. I’ll certainly let you know if I ever give it another shot though.

Hi Dave,
I apologize for using this means to reach you, but your forum code is not working. The forum renders in something like size 7 font and is unreadable (i tried signing up just to get into the forum hoping the font size would clear up once inside, but was unable to do so as i couldn’t read the input fields).

Anyway, you seem to have the most info on this game and i need to know why buildings disappear. My daughter and I have been working on this for 3 days and finally got a storage built and lots of stuff stored. Then the whole thing disappeared.

I’ve had 2 buildings (tent and storage) disappear for no apparent reason and I am getting very frustrated. Is it a bug?

It happens when the character sleeps. He wakes up and the building is just gone with his items laying on the ground (what’s left anyway).

Again, i apologize. I did try to use the forum and could not find another way to contact you.

Thanks so much for any help on this. I hate to keep putting time in to build and stock a beautiful storage if it can just disappear after a few days.

Anyway, I beleive the reason your buildings are been destroyed is the random events setting. There will occasinally be a fire that catches onto your building.

It sucks, but there is no way to stop it without editing the files and then restarting. If you wish to know how to edit feel free to post here, and I’ll give you an answer (if Dave doesn’t get there first :)) Hope this helps,

To DawnFlint to acheive cord you first need some wool. This is found on bushes and sheep. ‘Use’ the sheep to get wool, or hit the bush. When you have it use it in your inventory and you will create some cord.

Hi Dave,

I am stuck on the first island.
I’ve bin there for days now and still not proggressed or anything, or anyways can you tell me where to find the picklock, which i’ve heard will open the crate stuck in the rocks.

i just built up my camp so i had the hut shelter tent garden kiki spawn thing and a campfire im not sure if u need all of these but thats what i had

and yes it does u get a map and a spade and a starfish
